So often we are dedicated to being where potential customers will be. So often we invest to get ahead of those who are looking for something we can offer them. So often we focus on those who are already looking for us that we forget that the solution for the growth of most businesses is not the potential customers who are already looking for us, but those who do not even know that we exist.
Non-customers don’t know if they ever have a need that our product or service can answer. Non-customers are a much larger market than any other. They are a much easier market to attract attention, they are a much cheaper market to attract attention. Is better. They are a market that no competitor is looking at.
On our trips to schools, to raise awareness of the opportunity to study at a university abroad, the first question we asked students was who had already thought of studying in higher education. Some raised their hands. But it was for those who didn’t speak out that we directed our communication. Why?
Because we knew that others would be conquered. Communicating to “non-clients” we were able to reach and reach the entire room. They weren’t looking at us, but we were looking at them.
Aim for the “non-customers”. Make us discover that the need is there. Make us discover that there is a solution to this need and you will have loyal customers who are recognised for having shown them the way.
